It was a sunny evening. I look outside my window and see a towering cumulonimbus.
I think to myself, "That would make a cool poster."
A few hours and adjustment layers later, I created Wonder, first in a set of four posters, inspired by mininalist Helvetica posters ever so popular online. Think Weeknd album covers.
There were a few factors when it came to naming the posters, both from a design and emotional standpoint;
- Not too short, not too long
- No words with descending letters to avoid awkward negative space
- An emotion that I felt or could be felt from viewing the photos (The sense of wonder from a cumulonimbus, dream-like quality of an unintentionally blurry image, reflecting on your thoughts while looking at a blue sky and the feeling of renewal from a sunrise.)
The photos in Dream and Reflect were taken at Longview Park, and Renew was taken by a friend in Louisiana.
